Flocculator KD29 is used for sludge dewatering where polymer is used to improve the process. Polymer requires a certain combination of mixing and maturing to obtain full activation. Flocculator model KD 29 is designed to mix the sludge flow and the added polymer solution. The flocculator is used for sludge which is difficult to dewater and where static mixers such as the Static Mixer KD28 or the Polyring KD21 do not have the effect desired.

Simultaneous heavy stirring and increasing retention time lead to the formation of flocs that can be dewatered. The flocculator is dimensioned for a retention time of 2 min.

Due to the built-in baffles, the stirrer effect is gradually reduced as the retention time increases and the flocs grow larger and larger.

The flocculator is a pressure-tight construction. This results in great flexibility regarding the placement of the flocculator, because the following sludge pipe can be led upwards.
